Nha Trang - Vietnam's best Beach Resort!

There is no airport or train station in Hoi An so, if you are traveling South from there you can reach Nha Trang by bus (about 13 hours) or by plane or train from Da Nang, about one hour North of Hoi An. If traveling by bus, it is worth seeking out a bus company which does the trip by day as the scenery is quite spectacular. Leaving Hoi An in a southerly direction, you travel through farming districts where emerald green rice fields stretch as far as the eye can see to a palm fringed horizon, both left and right of the road. As you get closer to Nha Trang, the coastal scenery is dramatic and beautiful so try and sit on the left hand side of the bus so as to get the best view. Before reaching Nha Trang, you will pass through the newly developed resort town of Mui Ne where the bus companies will drop you if you want to spend a few days at the beach before going on to Nha Trang. Clearly, if you are travelling in a northerly direction from Nha Trang to Hoi An, the views are on the right side of the bus!

Vietnam Tourism & Travel Guide - Nha Trang - Pristine Beach

Nha Trang's 6 km long, pristine beach of fine white sand forms a crescent shape around the sparkling blue water of the South China Sea. Nha Trang Beach is Vietnam's most beautiful beach and, consequently, has become Vietnam's premier beach resort.

Nha Trang used to be a quiet fishing village and as little as two years ago it was still pretty sleepy. However, recent Government and private investment has transformed it into a thriving beachside resort town with, as well as the beach, a beach promenade several kilometres long and a variety of hotels ranging from brand new 5-star venues along the waterfront to small, family run hotels, all within easy walking distance of the beach around Biet Thu and Nguyen Thien Thuat Streets. Here you will also find a variety of restaurants, once again ranging from sophisticated dining experiences to family run restaurants so there is something for every budget and taste.

Vietnam Tourism & Travel Guide - Nha Trang - Giant Buddha

However much you may enjoy the beachside holiday atmosphere, don't neglect to take a walk through the older, part of town to see the fishing fleet at anchor and, under no circumstances, miss the Long Son Pagoda which is marked by a huge white Buddha statue. This beautiful temple pays tribute to the lives and tragic deaths of the monks who so dramatically and bravely emolliated themselves as a protest against American intervention in their country during the Vietnam war. It is a sombre reminder of the tragedies of Vietnam which ended with the reunification of the country just 30 years ago. This year, 2005, towns all over Vietnam celebrated the 30th Anniversary of Reunification.

From Nha Trang you can access over 70 islands. The area is a good for diving & snorkeling with clear waters and good visability. Anyone in Nha Trang will happily book you on a boat tour to some of the nearby islands. These day tours include lunch, snorkeling, swimming, sun bathing and a floating bar.
