Adam Air
Adam Air, incorporated as PT. Adam SkyConnection Airlines, is a privately owned airline based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Its main base is Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta, with secondary hubs in Medan and Surabaya.
Although sometimes referred to as a low-cost carrier, it markets itself as an airline which straddles between low-cost and traditional carriers by offering good on-board service with meals, but at competitive prices, similar to the model adopted by Singapore-based Valuair.

History
Adam Air was founded in 2002 by Mr Agung Laksono, a well-known Indonesian businessman and politician, and Mrs Sandra Ang.
The airline was established in 2003 and started operations on 19 December 2003 with 2 Boeing 737 aircraft leased from GE Capital Aviation Services. It is entirely owned by and named after Adam Adhitya Suherman, the Chief Executive of the company.
Services
As of October 2005, Adam Air operates services to the following domestic scheduled destinations: Balikpapan, Banda Aceh, Banjarmasin, Denpasar, Jakarta, Jambi, Lampung, Medan, Padang, Palembang, Pangkal Pinang, Bengkulu, Solo, Pekanbaru, Pontianak, Semarang, Surabaya, Ujung Pandang and Yogyakarta.
Adam Air also flies internationally from Medan to Penang (Malaysia). From 28 October2005, it will operate thrice daily from Jakarta to Singapore.

On February 23, 2006 Adam Air announced it would lease 6 Airbus A320 aircraft, and purchase another 24 Airbus A320 aircraft during the Asian Aerospace 2006, to be delivered commencing 2007. [citation needed]
