Charles R. Schwab (born 1937) is the founder and CEO of the Charles Schwab Corporation. Born in Sacramento, California, he earned a B.A. in economics from Stanford University in 1959 and an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1961. Schwab and his wife, Helen, live in Atherton, California. The Schwabs have five children. On the 2006 Forbes 400 list, Schwab is listed as the 50th richest person in the United States with a fortune of $4.6 billion.
In an interview with the Small Business Fortune magazine, he said, "you need to save before you invest."
