Dennis Dawson


Dennis Dawson, BA, MBA (born September 28, 1949 in Quebec City, Quebec) is a Canadian Senator.

Dawson is a former Liberal Member of Parliament in the Canadian House of Commons, representing the riding of Louis-Hébert, Quebec from 1977 to 1984. Dawson is listed as an administrator. He is a former Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Labour and former Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Employment and Immigration.

In 2004, he ran in the federal election as a "star" candidate for the Liberal Party of Canada in the riding of Beauport but lost to Bloc Québécois candidate Christian Simard by a ratio of nearly 2:1.

On August 2 2005, Dawson was appointed to the Canadian Senate on the recommendation of Prime Minister Paul Martin. He sits in the upper house as a Liberal.

He has a daughter Cindy another named Kathryn-Anne and a son named Julian.
