Hong Kong Airlines Limited (香港航空有限公司), the new name of CR Airways Ltd (中富航空) is a Hong Kong-based airline. It operates scheduled regional flights from Hong Kong to mainland China. It also operates business charter flights. Hong Kong International Airport serves as its hub.

History
The airline was established in 2001 and started operations on 5 July 2003. It was the first aircraft operator to receive its air operator's certificate since Hong Kong became a special administrative region of the People's Republic of China. Mr. WD RAN became the Chairman of the board on Aug 15th 2006.On December 19 2005, the airline acknowledged that HNA Group (the parent of Hainan Airlines, the largest private airline in China) is negotiating to acquire up to 60% of CR Airways.
In 2006, Hainan Airlines was permitted to take partial ownership of the airline (45%), and a change in the management structure was put in place. The company changed its name to "Hong Kong Airlines Limited" (or Hong Kong Air) on 30 September 2006 and will have new long haul routes introduced after the airline has received its first Boeing 777. The Boeing 777's will be aquired ex-EVA airline to provide for lift prior to the arrival of the 10 ordered B787)
By the end of 2006, it will have fully acquired Hong Kong Express and become Hong Kong's second largest airline.
Services
Hong Kong Air's route structure evolves quite rapidly as new routes are tested to see if they can generate profitable levels of traffic, and as the fleet has evolved from CRJs to the current three B737-800s. As of 1 October 2006 the routes served are as follows;

The 4th B737 will arrive on in early December with another to follow every 5-6 weeks into the forseeable future.
Aircraft orders
On December 20, 2005, the airline signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Boeing to acquire 30 Boeing 737-800 aircraft and 10 Boeing 787 aircraft to fly to major Chinese and Asian destinations and compete directly against Cathay Pacific and Dragonair, which is wholly owned by Cathay Pacific.
