This is a list of the first-level administrative divisions of People's Republic of China (P.R.C.) , including all provinces, autonomous regions, special administrative regions, and municipalities, in order of their total areas. The areas are given in square kilometers.

Taiwan Province, which is completely under the jurisdiction of the Republic of China (R.O.C.) on Taiwan, is excluded from this list.
