Matthew McGrory (May 17, 1973 – August 9, 2005) was an American actor, known for his great height.
McGrory was born in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and trained in law at Widener University.
McGrory grew to the astounding height of 7 foot 6 inches (2.28 metres). This was the result of a hormonal condition known as acromegaly.
Due to his extreme proportions, he was in great demand to play giants - he did so in many films such as Big Fish and The Devil's Rejects and television shows including Malcolm in the Middle, Charmed (where he was actually described as an ogre, rather than a giant), and Carnivàle. The Guinness Book of World Records also gave him the title of the tallest actor, the largest toe, and having the world's largest feet not caused by Elephantiasis - size 29½. Due to this, the Howard Stern Radio Show featured him frequently as a guest, calling him "Bigfoot". The Stern Show's Robin Quivers brought McGrory with her for her appearance on the game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
He lived with his girlfriend Melissa Davis in Sherman Oaks, California. Matthew's passing was from natural causes. He is buried in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetary in Broomall, Pa.
