Multiple (mathematics)
A multiple of a number is the product of that number with any integer.
a is a multiple of b iff a/b is an integer.
The set of all multiples of x can be defined as xN where N is the set of all integers.

Examples
- 14, 49, and -21 are multiples of 7 whereas -3, 15, and 20 are not multiples of 7
- The multiples of 3 form the infinite set {...,-9, -6, -3, 0, 3, 6, 9,...}.
eg
multiples of 6 are 6,12,18,24 and 30
Properties
- Every number is a multiple of itself (<math>n*1 = n </math>).
- 0 is a multiple of every number (<math>n*0 = 0</math>).
- If <math>a</math> and <math>b</math> are multiples of x, then <math>a+b</math>, <math>a-b</math> and <math>a*b</math> are multiples of x.
