Richard Greene

Richard Greene (25 August, 1918 - 1 June, 1985) was a noted British movie and television actor.

He was a descendant of the cinema pioneer William Friese-Greene and was of Irish Catholic extraction, being born in Plymouth, England.

A matinee idol who appeared in more than 40 films, he was perhaps best known for the long-running British TV series The Adventures of Robin Hood, which ran from 1955 to 1960.

He was twice married:

  1. The Anglo-Spanish actress Patricia Medina (1950-1960), who became Joseph Cotten's second and final wife.
  2. Greene died in London, aged 66, of complications from a brain tumour.
