Schock prize

The Schock Prizes were instituted by the will of philosopher and artist Rolf Schock (19331986). The prizes were first awarded in Stockholm, Sweden, 1993 and have been awarded every two years since. Each recipient currently receives 400,000 Swedish kronor, which is a little over $US50,000.

The Prizes are given in four categories and decided by committees of three of the Swedish Royal Academies:
