University of Bordeaux
The University of Bordeaux is an organisation consisting of four autonomous universities:
- Université Bordeaux 1 [1] - natural science
- Université Victor Segalen Bordeaux 2 [2] - medicine and life sciences
- Université Michel de Montaigne Bordeaux 3 [3] - the liberal arts
- Université Montesquieu Bordeaux IV [4] - political science and law
Bordeaux 2 is located in the city centre, while the other three were relocated in the 1960s to Domaine Universitaire, a vast campus located in the communes of Talence, Pessac and Gradignan. Among the most well-known institutions are:
- Institut d'études politiques de Bordeaux [5] (Political Studies Institute, commonly known as "Sciences Po"), an elite school for future policy-makers,
- Ecole Nationale de la Magistrature (National School of Magistrature) [6],
- Law School of the University Bordeaux IV [7], often described as the best of the country, and certainly one of the best,
- Bordeaux Ecole de Management (Bordeaux Business School) [8], one of the best of its kind
- École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers
- Laboratoire Bordelais de Recherche en Informatique (LaBRI) [9], a computer science research center
