Uran has a naval base near Mora. Locals claim that the base has stifled the growth of the town due to sea travel restrictions imposed by the Indian Navy.
The main town is extremely congested with narrow roads filled with potholes. Besides the navy, the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has a refinery out there. The outskirts of the town is largely rural, and remains one of the few places within the New Bombay city limits, untouched by the modernity around it. Sheetal shah too does not live there anymore. Now a days JNPT had played a huge roll to develop uran city.
Uran is really a place to go.You can also vist the Two dargha which is situated nearby. One can really find a peacful location, suurounded by the beautiful and enchanting hills. You can see the colaba, V.t and sion at the same time its a good place to visit.
