The Vishnu Purana is one of the oldest of the Puranas, containing some 23,000 shlokas, presented as a dialogue between Parashara with his disciple Maitreya. It is divided in six parts. The third part treats the Maha Avatara of Vishnu.
A DVD series has been made of the Vishnu Purana in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, with subtitles in English. The first episode tells the Legend of Dhruv.
Vishnu is played by Nitish Bharadwaj, who also played the role of Vishnu's avatars in the DVD series of Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Krishna.
