Whoopi was a short-lived TV sitcom starring Whoopi Goldberg as Mavis Rae, a member of the former one-hit wonder group The Ebony Blackbirds. The series revolved around the events and people at her hotel, the Lamont Hotel in New York City. The show was critically reviled; one writer called it "a free sample of Hell." The show aired at 8:00 PM ET, on Tuesdays starting September 9, 2003, on NBC; it went off the air in April 2004.

Cast and characters
- Mavis Rae, an irritated one hit wonder, reduced to running a small and unsuccessful NYC hotel. Played by Whoopi Goldberg.
- Nasim, The Le Mont's Persian janitor with implied terrorist connections. Played by Omid Djalili.
- Courtney Rae, Mavis' brother. He had a job at Enron, and now lives in a room in Mavis' hotel. He is the complete opposite to his sister in every way. Played by Wren T. Brown.
- Rita, Courtney's 'culturally confused' girlfriend. Mavis dislikes Rita, and disapproves of their relationship. Played by Elizabeth Regen.
